Spring always brings a certain kind of energy with it—fresh starts, big decisions, and the quiet excitement of what’s ahead.
Here at the Academy of Make Up and Arts, we feel that shift in a big way. This is the season where future artists begin making real plans—especially those preparing to graduate high school and step into something new, creative, and entirely their own.
And if that’s you (or someone you love), we want you to know: there’s a place for you here.
A School Built for Artists—Now Stronger Than Ever
We’re excited to share that the Academy of Make Up and Arts is now operating as a nonprofit organization. This step allows us to grow in a way that keeps students at the center of everything we do—expanding opportunities, strengthening education, and continuing to prepare artists for real, working careers in the industry.
But more than anything, it allows us to care for our students in a deeper, more intentional way.
Because AMUA has never just been about learning makeup—it’s about building confidence, finding your people, and stepping into your craft with purpose.

Introducing the AMUA Scholarship Foundation
As part of this growth, we’ve launched the AMUA Scholarship Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping future artists access professional training.
You can learn more about the foundation here.
We know that talent and passion don’t always come with financial ease—and that shouldn’t be what stands in the way of someone pursuing this path.
The Foundation exists to change that.
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, merit, and a true commitment to the craft. For students who are ready to take this seriously, it can be the bridge between dreaming about it… and actually doing it.
For the Students Figuring Out “What’s Next”
If you’re graduating this spring or starting to think about your fall plans, this is your moment to explore what a creative career could really look like.
At AMUA, you won’t just sit in a classroom—you’ll build real skills in:
- Bridal and beauty makeup
- Costuming
- Special Effects makeup
- Character design
- Wig styling and hair work
- 3D Printing
- Client experience and freelance business
You’ll be surrounded by instructors who are working artists, and classmates who are just as passionate as you are.

More Than a School—A Community
One of the things we hear most often from our students is how much AMUA feels like home.
It’s the friendships formed over early call times.
The encouragement during hands-on builds.
The confidence that grows with every completed look.
That sense of community is something we protect, grow, and deeply value—and as we move into this new season, we’re more committed than ever to creating a space where artists feel supported from day one.
Looking Ahead
Spring is just the beginning.
For many of our incoming students, this is the first step toward a career they’ve been dreaming about—whether they’ve said it out loud yet or not.
And for those already part of the AMUA family, it’s a reminder of how far you’ve come—and how many others are about to begin their journey.
If you’ve ever thought about pursuing makeup artistry professionally, or if you know someone who has that spark, we’d love to welcome you into this community.
Because the artists of tomorrow?
They’re already on their way.

Your Next Step Starts Here
If you’ve been thinking about pursuing makeup artistry—even quietly—this is your sign to take it seriously.
Whether you’re graduating this spring, exploring creative career paths, or ready to invest in your craft, AMUA is here to support you every step of the way.
You don’t have to have it all figured out—you just have to start.
