Payment Options

When it comes to paying tuition and fees, students have a few options.

Pay Tuition Upfront

  • Pros: Locks in your tuition rate for a predetermined amount of hours. Your tuition rate won’t increase for the contracted hours.
  • Cons: Not affordable for every family.

Pay Tuition per Semester

  • Pros: Less money up front; no credit check required and therefore no interest is accrued.
  • Cons: The tuition rate is locked in for 1200 hours or 12 months. If the tuition rate increases after that, students will be billed according to the current rate.

Pay Over Time with our Tuition Installment Plan

  • Pros: The least amount of money required upfront; payments are spread over up to 10 years to fit your budget. Borrowers have an opportunity to build a good credit reputation for future borrowing needs.
  • Cons: Borrowers will pay interest on money borrowed.

Financial Assistance

Financial aid assists students who may not have the means to attend a private school. If you have questions about how you can finance your training at the Academy of Make Up Arts, call us today. Our staff is always available to speak with potential students and parents about your options. Academy of Make Up Arts has been authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission since 2011.

When you’re self-employed, you can deduct the cost of education for your trade or business on Schedule C if the course maintains or improves skills you need in your trade or business.

Pay-as-you-go

We offer a no-interest installment payment plan. Students can spread tuition and fee payments out over their enrollment. The pay-as-you-go plan is a budgeting tool for students and families. It is not considered a loan. Installment payments are scheduled according to your program start date and anticipated end. The payment schedule will be available in the Populi Student Portal.

Title IV (FAFSA)

Our school’s size and revenue levels are too low to take part in federal student aid programs. Federal accreditation would add unnecessary financial and administrative burdens. Our institution and students cannot bear them. We are approved by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission. We can accept scholarships, sponsorships, and most 529 college savings plans. We also offer in-house financing.

Tuition Installment Plan

We understand that many individuals do not have the available funds to pay up-front for private school tuition. We can provide the means for those who qualify. A cosigner may help you qualify. Here’s what you’ll need to start your application:

  • Your permanent home address
  • Your Social Security Number
  • Your employment information (company name and gross income) for past two years
  • Financial information including your bank accounts and your monthly mortgage or rent payments
  • If you’re applying with a cosigner, we’ll ask your cosigner to provide similar information about themselves.

After you submit your application We’ll review your credit. We usually provide a decision when you and your cosigner (if applicable) submit your application but in some cases, we may ask you for additional information or documentation before we can make a decision. If we approve your application, we will ask you or your cosigner to accept the terms of your loan and sign it electronically. To qualify for this loan:

  • The borrower must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident or apply with a cosigner who meets this requirement.
  • The borrower and cosigner must be of legal age as defined by their state of permanent residence.
  • The borrower or cosigner must have at least 2 years of positive credit history and meet other creditworthy requirements (see below).
  • The borrower or cosigner may not exceed the debt to income threshold of 45% INCLUDING the amount owed to the AMUA.
  • The borrower or cosigner has a credit score of at least 580. • The borrower or cosigner has not defaulted on any federal or private student loans.
  • The borrower or cosigner does not have bankruptcies, foreclosures or repossessions during the past 5 year.
  • The borrower or cosigner has not had open collections or charge offs in the past 2 years.

If you meet the above requirements, complete the Credit Application(s). If you are using a cosigner, then they’ll need to complete an application, too.
