We’re excited to welcome Michael Meyer back to The Academy of Make Up Arts as our Wig & Hair instructor! Michael has been a cornerstone of AMUA for years. He served not only as a professor of Wig Making and Character Design, but also as our School Director. With over 16 years as Director of the Wig and Make-up Department at the University of North Carolina, along with his work as founder of Skin Deep FX and co-founder of Human Analogue Applications, Michael brings a depth of industry and educational experience that directly benefits our students.
Michael’s teaching philosophy centers on hands-on learning, critical thinking, and building complete characters—skills essential to working professionals in film, theater, and live performance. His experience as a Guest Professor at institutions such as the Taiwan National University of the Arts and the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing reflects a global perspective that enriches the classroom environment. We’re thrilled to have Michael back at AMUA, continuing to challenge, inspire, and prepare students through our Art of Wig & Hair Design Program. So, welcome back!!
