Soft Props Workshop

Soft Prop Workshop – Learn to make realistic props for film, television, theater

Step into the world of practical special effects with this hands-on Soft Prop Workshop, taught by Emmy Award-winning special effects instructor Ben Rittenhouse!

Over four days, participants will explore the techniques and craftsmanship behind creating realistic soft props for film and television. Learn how to transform everyday objects into convincing props using specialized materials, fabrication methods, and professional SFX techniques.

A featured project will be the creation of a soft ball-peen hammer—a prop designed to capture the look of a real tool while incorporating the techniques used in soft prop fabrication.

Whether you’re looking to expand your prop-making skills or gain hands-on experience with industry techniques, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to learn from an award-winning instructor and bring practical effects craftsmanship to life.
