Lori Gann-Smith is not just an administrator; she’s a dynamic force in costume design and fiber arts. With over 30 years of hands-on experience, she has shaped countless productions and inspired many through her innovative work. Lori’s journey in the arts began with a B.S. in Speech and Theatre from Middle Tennessee State University, followed by an M.F.A. in Costume Design from the University of Georgia. Her academic background laid a solid foundation for her expansive career, blending theory with practical expertise.
Lori’s career is nothing short of extraordinary. As the former Department Chair of Art & Design at Brenau University and Resident Costume Designer at Nashville Repertory Theatre, she has consistently demonstrated exceptional skills and leadership. Lori has made significant contributions to numerous high-profile productions, including “9 to 5,” “Violet,” “Elf,” “Mary Poppins,” and “Shakespeare in Love.” Her ability to bring characters to life through meticulous costume design is remarkable.
One of Lori’s greatest strengths is her passion for teaching. Her extensive knowledge and practical experience in costume design and fiber arts make her an invaluable asset to our students.
