AMUA is not a participant in federal student aid programs such as FAFSA. As a small, independent school, federal accreditation would add administrative and financial burdens that would ultimately raise tuition for students.
We are authorized by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission and can accept private scholarships, 529 college savings plans, and sponsorships. We also offer flexible in-house tuition financing to help make your training more accessible.
Private student loans may also be available through banks, credit unions, and online lenders. You can compare current loan rates and terms at BankRate.com.
For students who need additional support, AMUA offers in-house Tuition Financing through Tuition Financing Corporation. Rates are comparable to Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loans.
We encourage families to explore all financing options—including private student loans, home equity loans, or personal lines of credit. A line of credit can be especially helpful for longer programs like our Performance Makeup Artist Program, offering flexibility and payments only on the amount used—ideal for those choosing semi-annual payment plans.
Credit Requirements
Credit requirements vary depending on the lender. In-house financing may be more flexible, but a cosigner may be required. Stronger credit often results in better terms.
At this time, AMUA does not offer institutional scholarships or discounts. However, we are in the process of establishing the AMUA Scholarship Foundation, a pending 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Once approved, the foundation will seek donations and grants with the goal of providing financial assistance to AMUA students in the future.
In the meantime, we encourage students to explore external scholarship opportunities such as:
Students may also apply private scholarships or sponsorships toward their tuition.
No. AMUA has a pro-rated refund policy. Students who withdraw before completing 50% of their program are eligible for a prorated refund of tuition. Students who withdraw after the 50% point are responsible for the full program cost, and their payment plan will remain in effect.
We strongly recommend reviewing your enrollment agreement and speaking with our team before making any changes to your enrollment status.
